Spermidine
Natural polyamine that induces autophagy (cellular recycling). Found in wheat germ, aged cheese, and soy. Levels decline with age. Associated with greater longevity in epidemiological studies.
What is it for?
💡 Absorption: Wheat germ extract is the most common supplemental source. Take on an empty stomach to maximize autophagy. Typical dose 1-6mg/day.
⚠️ Caution: Generally safe. Naturally present in the diet. Theoretical caution with active cancers (may promote cell growth). Contraindicated in mastocytosis.
