What is it for?
💡 Absorption: Calcium citrate is better absorbed. Do not take more than 500mg per dose. Separate from iron and zinc by 2h.
⚠️ Caution: UL: 2500mg/day. Excess linked to kidney stones. Always combine with D3 and K2.
Interactions with other supplements
D3 increases intestinal calcium absorption by 30-40%. Essential combination for bones.
⚕️ Medication interactions
Calcium interferes with bisphosphonate absorption, drastically reducing their efficacy.
→ No tomar juntos. Separar al menos 2 horas. El bifosfonato debe tomarse en ayunas con agua sola.
Calcium interferes with levothyroxine absorption.
→ Separar la toma al menos 4 horas.
🏥 Contraindications
Calcio adicional puede agravar la hipercalcemia.
→ No suplementar sin análisis previo.
El exceso de calcio puede favorecer la formación de cálculos de oxalato cálcico.
→ Preferir calcio de la dieta. Si suplementa, tomar con comida y no superar 500mg/día.
