The best-tolerated form of iron. Chelated with glycine for superior absorption without the typical side effects (constipation, nausea). Ideal for anemia and iron deficiency.
Recommended doses
Range: 14 – 45 mg
⚕️ Medication interactions
Iron reduces levothyroxine absorption.
→ Separar la toma al menos 4 horas.
Although iron bisglycinate is better absorbed than other forms, PPIs may partially reduce its absorption.
→ La forma bisglicinato es preferible si se toman IBP. Monitorizar niveles de ferritina.
🏥 Contraindications
Contraindicado en hemocromatosis.
→ No suplementar hierro en ninguna forma.

Estudio en mujeres embarazadas comparando tres formas de hierro oral. El bisglicinato de hierro tuvo el perfil más favorable de efectos gastrointestinales adversos.
Iron bisglycinate causes fewer GI side effects with equal efficacy to ferrous sulfate.
