Apigenina
Flavonoid found in chamomile, parsley and celery. In animals it acts on the same GABA receptors as sedatives. There are no human trials of isolated apigenin for sleep: evidence comes from chamomile extracts, which in a meta-analysis improved sleep quality slightly but not duration.
What is it for?
💡 Absorption: Take 30-60 minutes before bed.
⚠️ Caution: Avoid with allergy to chamomile or other Asteraceae (daisy, ragweed). May add to sedatives and alcohol. Avoid in pregnancy. Caution with anticoagulants.
Recommended doses
Range: 25 – 100 mg
